This is a visible finance business partnering role supporting Hikma's global Injectables R&D organization, with primary responsibility for the Zagreb R&D Center. You will work at the intersection of Finance, R&D, Portfolio Management and Commercial teams, helping leadership decide where and how to invest across the product development pipeline. You will own the financial planning process for the integrated Croatia and US Injectables R&D project portfolio together with the Project Management Office (PMO). Over time, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy as the finance lead for the Zagreb R&D organization, while remaining closely connected to the wider global R&D Finance team.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the primary finance business partner for the Zagreb Injectables R&D organization, providing clear financial guidance and constructive challenge to R&D leadership.
- Co-own with the PMO the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and long-range plan for the integrated Croatia and US Injectables R&D project portfolio.
- Build and maintain robust financial models and business cases for development opportunities, including NPV, cash flow, profitability, return and scenario analysis.
- Partner with Portfolio Management and regional teams to consolidate business cases for projects spanning North America, Europe, and MENA.
- Ensure consistent assumptions, methodologies and financial evaluation standards across regions, and translate analyses into clear investment recommendations.
- Monitor project spending, development costs and resource utilization against approved plans, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare concise monthly reporting, variance analysis, portfolio insights and materials for senior leadership and governance forums.
- Participate in portfolio reviews, project governance meetings and investment discussions, challenging assumptions where appropriate.
- Develop practical reporting and analytical tools that strengthen project performance management and improve decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement across R&D finance processes, business-case methodologies and reporting, using Excel, planning systems, ERP platforms and Power BI.
- Build effective relationships across R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Business Development, PMO and Finance.
What we expect:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline. An MBA, CFA, CPA, ACCA or similar qualification is an advantage.
- Approximately 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment analysis or finance business partnering.
- Strong financial modelling skills and practical experience in investment appraisal, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
- The confidence to work independently, engage senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions and turn complex analysis into clear recommendations.
- Advanced Excel capability and experience with ERP systems, financial planning tools and Power BI.
- Experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare or life sciences is preferred. Experience supporting R&D, product development or project-based organizations is a strong advantage.
- Fluent business English, strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures and geographies.
