Title:  Sr. Manager, Manufacturing

At the end of the 1980s, we extended ours beyond the Middle East and acquired land in Portugal for the construction of a sterile factory for injectable pharmaceutical products. This was an important turning point for the company, and our first step into a new region. Today, in Portugal, we have more than 1000 employees and 3 factories for the production of injectable medicines. 

Hikma intends to recruit an Sr. Manager, Manufacturing - (m/f) to integrate the Production department reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Operations

Main Responsibilities:

• Execution of production plans in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
• Lead and develop a high-performing manufacturing team.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure EHS compliance.
• Optimize manufacturing performance, productivity, and resource utilization.
• Reduce deviations, batch losses, waste, and operational inefficiencies.
• Lead continuous improvement and manage projects
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to achieve business objectives.
• Monitor and improve KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
• Support audits, inspections, validation activities, and regulatory readiness.
• Manage departmental budgets.

Profile:

• B.Sc or M.Sc degree in Industrial Engineering, chemistry, pharmacy
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a supervisory role in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a management position.
• Strong leadership and people management skills. 
• Expertise in sterile injectable manufacturing operations.
• In-depth knowledge of GMP, Annex 1, and regulatory requirements
• Production planning, scheduling, and execution management.
• Operational excellence and continuous improvement mindset. 
• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. 
• Performance management and KPI-driven leadership. 
• Risk assessment and quality-focused approach.
• Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
• Resource, capacity, and budget management.
• Lean Manufacturing and process optimization skills.
