Title:  Sr. Category Manager, Injectables Packaging Materials

At the end of the 1980s, we extended ours beyond the Middle East and acquired land in Portugal for the construction of a sterile factory for injectable pharmaceutical products. This was an important turning point for the company, and our first step into a new region. Today, in Portugal, we have more than 1000 employees and 3 factories for the production of injectable medicines. 

Hikma intends to recruit an Sr. Category Manager, Injectables Packaging Materials - (m/f)

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for packaging materials and production-related consumables.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, and contract negotiations to ensure supply continuity and cost competitiveness.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver cost savings, productivity improvements, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Supply Planning, Operations, Quality, and Finance to ensure timely material availability and optimal inventory levels.
• Identify and drive second-source opportunities to strengthen supply chain resilience.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply, delivery, and quality issues proactively.
• Prepare and analyse procurement data, spend reports, savings initiatives, and supplier metrics.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, GMP requirements, and internal controls.
• Support audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and procurement analytics to support data-driven decision making and reporting

Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Purchasing roles.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience analysing procurement data and translating insights into business actions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Navision, or similar.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement and digitalisation focus
