Title:  Manager, 3rd Party Supply Chain

At the end of the 1980s, we extended ours beyond the Middle East and acquired land in Portugal for the construction of a sterile factory for injectable pharmaceutical products. This was an important turning point for the company, and our first step into a new region. Today, in Portugal, we have more than 1000 employees and 3 factories for the production of injectable medicines. 

 Hikma intends to recruit an Manager, 3rd Party Supply Chain (m/f) to manage European  3rd Party Supply chain to the Global framework, working on-site.

Main Responsibilities:

 Act as the primary supply-chain relationship owner for assigned European 3rd party manufacturing partners.

• Establish and lead partner governance, including operational reviews, monthly performance meetings, quarterly business reviews and executive escalations.
• Build performance relationships and coordinate interactions between partners and internal teams.
• Maintain accountability for operational and supply commitments, including escalation of unresolved issues.
• Maintain CMO scorecards, action trackers, decision logs, risk registers and improvement plans.
• Ensure all activities, actions and commitments have clear owners, timelines and effective follow-through.
• Monitor performance against agreed KPIs, including OTIF, schedule adherence, service level, batch-release lead time, inventory targets and quality performance.
• Identify root causes of underperformance and bring mitigation plans to completion. Prevent recurring supply issues.
• Agree, implement and track corrective actions to deliver sustained performance improvement.
• Coordinate demand, supply and capacity planning between internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
• Translate approved demand into executable production PO and supply plans.
• Identify and mitigate capacity constraints, supply gaps, inventory risks and competing priorities in advance.
• Proactively identify risks relating to materials, manufacturing, quality, regulatory compliance, batch release, logistics and business continuity.
• Lead cross-functional issue resolution and develop clear mitigation and recovery plans.
• Develop partner-specific improvement roadmaps based on CMO segmentation, business criticality and performance.
• Lead initiatives to improve supply reliability, lead times, planning discipline, responsiveness and data transparency.
• Coordinate third-party supply activities for launches, technology transfers, site transfers, regulatory changes, packaging changes and discontinuations.
• Establish clear readiness plans, milestones, dependencies, governance and escalation routes.

Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business management, Life Sciences or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• APICS or related certifications is a plus 
• Typically 8–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical supply chain, external manufacturing, alliance management, supply chain, procurement, operations or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing pharmaceutical CMOs or third-party manufacturing partners.
• Strong understanding of demand and supply planning, inventory management, manufacturing lead times and S&OP processes.
• Experience working in a regulated pharmaceutical environment, with an understanding of GMP/GDP quality systems, batch release and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing product launches, technology transfers, supply disruptions or major operational changes.
• Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP and supply-planning environment.
