Description:

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.  We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Production Engineer to join our team.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering solutions to analyze equipment/process capacity constraints and long-term strategic vision for all equipment operation and capacities. Use this information to make recommendations for existing equipment/process modifications or new equipment purchases that coincide with this strategic plan. Investigate new equipment options, make recommendations and implement. Capital management focus.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular and predictable onsite attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide technical support to the assigned production area on existing equipment in terms of operating efficiently, troubleshooting problems, coordinating technical activities with maintenance, and analyzing and communicating technical issues to production and engineering staff.
  • Analyze equipment capabilities and specify, set-up equipment for new product launch.
  • Monitor the process and calculate data for production equipment to implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Evaluate equipment to increase capacity and upgrade technology.
  • Mentor Production Engineers I and II.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Pharmaceutics, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline with 5+ years of experience, or 12+ years of equivalent experience, supporting pharmaceutical production equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, applying engineering principles and technical expertise.
  • Strong planning and technical support skills for large capital projects.
  • Experience leading 1-2 capital and expense projects ranging from $0-$2 million, including schedule, cost, and deliverable management.
  • Proven ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize personal and team activities.
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparation of technical documentation for FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information related to manufacturing processes, material flow, quality control, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to train and educate technicians on equipment principles and operation.
  • At least one year of validation experience qualifying equipment using GAMP methodology to meet production and process specifications.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, SAP, and equipment-specific software.
  • Hands-on experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, including fluid beds, CIP systems, one-pot granulators, tablet presses, encapsulators, pumps, comils, processors, dryers, coating pans, bin tumblers, and micronizers.
  • Working knowledge of 21 CFR regulations related to pharmaceutical production equipment.
  • Demonstrated conflict management and resolution skills.
  • Ability to influence and develop project team members without direct authority.
