Team Leader – Molding Operations & Engineering

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Mechatronics Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in Injection Molding and Injection Blow Molding processes within the medical device, pharmaceutical packaging, or food packaging industry. The successful candidate will lead operational and engineering activities related to molding equipment, process optimization, troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Team Leader will play a key role in improving machine reliability, production efficiency, product quality, and technical competence across the molding department.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Operational Leadership

• Lead daily operations of injection molding and injection blow molding machines.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for molding equipment and auxiliary systems.
• Ensure optimum machine performance, availability, and production efficiency.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering departments to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor machine performance and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.

Process Optimization

• Optimize molding parameters to improve product quality and productivity.
• Lead root cause analysis for process deviations, product defects, and equipment failures.
• Support new mold trials, machine validations, and process qualifications.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, scrap, and operational costs.

Engineering & Maintenance Support

• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Coordinate machine installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Ensure proper documentation of technical activities, maintenance records, and process changes.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ activities when applicable.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and guide technicians and operators within the molding area.
• Conduct technical training and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Develop team capabilities in troubleshooting, machine setup, and process control.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, ISO requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain safe operation of equipment and adherence to HSE requirements.
• Participate in audits and support corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in:
• Injection Molding Machines
• Injection Blow Molding Machines
• Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Food Manufacturing Environment
• Strong knowledge of molding processes, machine troubleshooting, and process optimization.
• Experience with automation systems, PLCs, sensors, and auxiliary molding equipment.
• Ability to lead technical teams and manage cross-functional projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified by ARBURG to deal with ARBURG molding technologies
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO 9001 , ISO 14001  and medical manufacturing requirements.
• Experience in preventive maintenance and reliability improvement programs.
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
